ND APCO is once again offering scholarships to assist agencies and individuals with available funding to attend a National APCO Conference or Dakota 911 Conference.
Scholarships will be awarded for each of the following conferences:
National APCO Conference
July 27 - July 30, 2025
Baltimore, MD
Dakota 911 Conference
October 7 - October 10, 2025
Bismarck, ND
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
March 10th 2025 at 11:00 am CT
WHAT IS COVERED:
Scholarship recipients will receive the following:
- $1500 towards the National APCO Conference.
or
- Complimentary registration to the 2025 Dakota 911 Conference and up to $500 travel stipend.
Spouse and/or guests are not covered. Alcoholic beverages are not covered.
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for the North Dakota APCO Scholarship, an application must be completed at the link below, provide a current resume spanning your experience in public safety, and meet the following requirements:
- Must be employed for a North Dakota PSAP
- Have at least one (1) year experience
- Be in good standing with current employer
- Must be an APCO member
Supervisory and/or other managerial personnel are eligible for the North Dakota APCO Scholarship.
Following the conference, recipients must submit to the ND APCO Board a one page review document covering the following:
- What did you learn from the attended conference?
- How will you apply the information that you learned?
Proof of registration, receipts, and conference review must be submitted to the ND APCO Chapter Board within 30 days following the attended conference. Reimbursement will be paid to the recipient or recipient's employer after necessary documents are submitted.
The purpose of this award is to recognize the unforeseen or unusually challenging situation handled outside of the normal assignment of duties in which additional responsibilities handled were significant in making a difference in the event.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
August 1, 2024 at 5:00 pm CT
ELIGIBILITY:
Any North Dakota 9-1-1 PSAP/ECC frontline employee or agency is eligible for nomination. You do not need to be an APCO member to be selected for this award.
RECOGNITION:
An award plaque will be presented to the frontline employee, team, or agency who performed exceptionally well during a significant event or incident. It will be presented during the Awards Ceremony at the 2025 Dakota 911 Conference Banquet. Individuals and/or team will receive complimentary admission to the banquet (if not already attending the conference).
GUIDELINES:
The following guidelines will be used when recommending and considering individuals/agencies who are nominated for the "Make a Difference Award".
- Nominations must be in writing and submitted to the ND APCO Board via email at info@ndapco.org.
- The written nomination letter must be endorsed by the Director/Manager/Police Chief/Fire Chief/Sheriff of the submitting Emergency Communications Center or Agency.
- Individuals submitting do not need to be an APCO member to submit a nomination.
- To maintain the integrity of the "Make a Difference Award", any nomination that has not followed these guidelines will not be considered.

ND APCO may present several awards for outstanding performance and contributions to the 9-1-1 profession in the following categories.
Telecommunicator of the Year
Supervisor / Manager / Director of the Year
IT / Radio Technologist of the Year
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for a North Dakota 9-1-1 Profession Award, an application must be completed at the link below and all nominees must meet the following requirements:
- Must be employeed for a North Dakota PSAP
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the 9-1-1 Profession
- Must be an APCO member or have demonstrated outstanding contributions that are worthy of the recognition
